Day by Day Itinerary

ARRIVE IN LJUBLJANA (D)
Your journey begins with arrival into the capital city of Slovenia, Ljubljana. This red-roofed gem is nestled in an alpine valley along the Ljubljanica River, which makes it ideal for a sightseeing cruise along the water. It boasts architecture that dates from the Middle Ages, with Renaissance, Baroque and Art Nouveau periods also playing a significant part. Head to the hilltop castle to learn about Slovenian history in the interactive museum and gaze out at the incredible views of the city and beyond from the castle tower. The European Green Capital of 2016, Ljubljana offers electric cars known as kavalirs, as well as a bike-sharing program that makes it easy to get out an explore places like Tivoli Park.

LAKE BLED TOUR (B)
Today you’ll travel to Lake Bled, a place that looks as if it came straight from the pages of a story-tale. The tranquil, emerald-hued lake is surrounded by the gentle slopes of alpine mountains and hosts a tiny island, just large enough for the old white church that sits in the middle. You’ll be able to hop aboard a “pletna,” a traditional boat only found here on Lake Bled, to visit the islet and the Assumption of Mary Pilgrimage Church where legend has it that anyone who rings its bell will have a wish granted. Visit Slovenia’s oldest castle which sits on a precipice above the city overlooking the lake and dates back over 1,000 years. Take in more picturesque scenery by enjoy a nature walk at Vintgar Gorge, which carves its way through vertical rocks and hills, graced by the Radovna with its rapids, pools and waterfalls.

DEPARTURE FOR OPATIJA VIA POSTOJNA CAVE (B)
Venture to Postojna Cave, Europe’s largest show caves and one of the world’s most captivating, home to magnificent formations and diverse fauna, including an endangered species of salamander called olm. You’ll ride into the belly of the cave on a train to marvel at the stalagmites and stalactites before visiting Vivarium Proteus, where olm offspring were successfully hatched, providing hope for survival of the species. Nearby view the Renaissance castle known as Predjama Castle, built within the mouth of a cave.

PRIVATE TOUR OF ISTRIA (B,T)
In the Istrian countryside, characterized by picturesque hilltop villages, truffles and wine, you can choose to embark on a truffle hunt with your private driver, led by expertly-trained truffle-sniffing dogs that includes the chance to sample truffle products too. Alternatively, enjoy wine tasting at the award-winning Kozlovic winery or take a scenic drive to visit the beautiful hilltop villages of Groznjan and Motovun as well as the coastal towns of Pula, Porec and Rovinj.

PLITVICE LAKES (B)
Today you’ll get to experience a destination on many travelers’ bucket lists. Plitvice Lakes National Park is home to one of Europe’s most breathtaking natural wonders, a maze of waterfalls and lakes, crystal-clear azure waters and lush greenery. The 16 interconnected lakes are divided into upper and lower clusters that were formed by natural travertine dams. You’ll be able to stroll the wooden walkways for a closeup look, ride a boat across the lake or hop aboard a scenic train.

DEPART FOR SPLIT (B)
Leaving Slovenia, it’s time to visit Split, Croatia, the capital of the Dalmatian region. You’ll stop along the way for lunch at an eatery surrounded by gorgeous scenery to sample some of the local delights. Experience the legendary city of Split and its 4th-century AD Diocletian’s Palace which forms about half of the Old Town. Built for the Roman Emperor, the massive structure spotlighted in HBO’s “Game of Thrones,” and its labyrinthine streets incorporates Roman and Gothic structures as well as more modern Mediterranean-style stone homes. SATURDAY SPLIT (D)
Venture to Split Harbour where you’ll find your luxury vessel waiting to take you on the cruise portion of your unforgettable excursion. You’ll be able to board at anytime from 1 p.m. on and are welcome to drop off your luggage to do some more exploring in the city or enjoy a refreshing swim at the beach. In the evening, attend the lavish captain’s welcome dinner where you’ll get to know the captain, crew, cruise director and your fellow passengers. Overnight in Split

SPLIT - TROGIR (B,L)
Begin the day with an inspiring guided tour of Split’s Old Town with a focus on the vast Diocletian’s Palace. Afterwards set sail to Trogir, sometimes referred to as a “town museum” as the entire historic walled city is a UNESCO protected site. Enjoy a guided tour of its intriguing mix of Renaissance, Baroque and Romanesque architecture. Witness ancient palaces, traditional stone houses, monasteries, towers and churches like the majestic Cathedral of St. Lawrence as well as Trogir Ciovo and North Gate. TROGIR to BRAC to HVAR (B,L)
Cruising on to the island of Brac, this is your opportunity to swim on a beach you’ve likely seen before – Zlanti Rat is Croatia’s most photographed stretch of sand, curving dramatically into the brilliant turquoise sea. Wander through the fishing village of Bol before journeying on to the island of Hvar with its super yacht-filled marina, fascinating Old Town and happening nightlife. On your guided tour, learn more about its history and culture while discovering architectural delights like the 15th-century Franciscan Monastery, St. Stephen’s Cathedral and square, and the Venetian Loggia and clock tower. In the evening, head to the marina to capture a glorious sunset with colors splashed across the Pakleni Islands and the sea. Overnight in Hvar

HVAR - BIŠEVO BLUE CAVE to VIS (B,L)

KORČULA - MLJET NATIONAL PARK to SLANO or ŠIPAN ISLAND (B,L,D)
Traveling to the lush island of Mljet, known for its olives, goat cheese, wine, olives as well as its stunning natural beauty with forests and sandy beaches, you’ll be able to explore the national park which covers its entire northwest section. Inside one of its deep lakes is a small islet that hosts an ancient monastery and church that date back to the 12th-century. Get revitalized with a swim before we head to either Slano or Sipan Island for the evening. Overnight in Slano or Sipan Island with the Captain’s Dinner served on board.

DUBROVNIK (B,L)
We’ll make our way through the beautiful Elaphiti Islands, sailing into the medieval city of Dubrovnik with its fortifications and imposing walls that provide postcard-perfect views of the Old Town. Your local guide will lead you on a fascinating tour that includes the ancient walls and the Gothic/Renaissance/Baroque Rector’s Palace as well as Sponza Palace and the Pile Gate, much of which will be familiar to “Game of Thrones” fans. Don’t miss the chance to take the cable car to the top of Srđ Mountain where you’ll be able to take in 360-degree views of the city, the sea and many island gems. Overnight in Dubrovnik

DUBROVNIK - MONTENEGRO (B)
The cruise portion of the trip ends this morning with goodbyes to the captain, crew and new friends. Embark on a scenic drive across the border to the spectacular country of Montenegro for a private tour of the UNESCO-protected Old Town of Kotor and its lovely churches, squares and palaces that date from the 15th– to 18th-centuries. Enjoy lunch with more jaw-dropping views overlooking Kotor Bay before making your way back to Dubrovnik. Overnight in Dubrovnik

DUBROVNIK
Sadly, all good things must come to an end. You’ll take your private transfer to Dubrovnik Airport to journey home, or wherever your travels might take you.
