Day by Day Itinerary
This spectacular Dalmatian coast cruise kicks off as soon as you arrive into Split Airport. Take transfer to the Port of Split where you’ll be welcomed by the cruise director and given further direction. Those who arrive early will be able to drop off their luggage to explore Split unencumbered, with check-in from 1pm on. Strolling the Riva promenade, enjoying coffee or a glass of wine in one of the many alfresco cafes is suggested. Afterward, join a guided tour through the alluring streets of the Old City, centered around the more than 1,700-year-old Diocletian’s Palace, a maze-like complex filled with Roman remnants, outstanding eateries and unique shops. A welcome, meet and greet reception will be hosted back on the ship at 7:30pm.
Bol/Milna, Hvar (B, L)
Our destination for this evening is one of Croatia’s most popular islands, sunny Hvar, but first, if weather allows, we’ll visit Zlatni Rat Beach on Brac Island for a swim. Often referred to as the “Golden Horn,” the wind and waves continually change its shape, while strikingly clear aquamarine waters surround it, leading many to rank it as one of the most beautiful stretches in Europe. Alternatively, we’ll head to the north side of the island to visit the small town of Milna, with its irresistible charms. As we pull into Hvar, you’ll notice its harbor filled with yachts that attract jetsetters to enjoy the many upscale restaurants and clubs. The evening is yours to explore it all.
Bisevo (Blue Cave)/Vis (B, L)
Early this morning we’ll sail to Vis, a practically untouched island having been closed off to the public for some four decades while used as a military base. Along the way, an exciting excursion will bring you to the Blue Cave, where you’ll witness an incredible phenomenon as the rays of the sun enter a crack in the rock, illuminating the interior with a magical blue glow. After we arrive on Vis, you’ll be able to wander through Vis Town on your own, browsing the unique shops and the small but impressive museum, perhaps spending time relaxing on Prirova, the town’s most popular beach stretching along the promenade.
Korcula (B, L)
Your Croatian cruise continues with a visit to Korcula on the itinerary next. This island is filled with gorgeous landscapes that include hidden coves and charming villages, pine forests, olive groves and vineyards. Its walled Old Town is particularly captivating, often called a “mini-Dubrovnik.” Take a stroll through its marble streets lined with gothic architecture on a guided tour that reveals the reason behind its nickname as well as its rich history. Afterward, enjoy exploring on your own, discovering the perfect outdoor café for dining with a sea view.
Mljet (B, L, CD)
Lush Mljet Island is our next destination, one of the Adriatic’s greenest with a significant portion covered with dense forest. It’s also home to a beautiful national park that holds two famous saltwater lakes, one of which hosts a little island with ruins of a 12th-century monastery and church. Here you can join your cruise manager for an optional tour of the park or enjoy it independently. Bikes and kayaks are available to rent, or you can enjoy swimming in the lakes while enjoying the lush surrounding scenery. After working up an appetite, you’ll be able to join the feast, complete with live entertainment, at the Captain’s Dinner back onboard this evening.
Slano (B, L)
Cruising on to Slano, you’ll be able to take in beautiful sights and enjoy tasty flavors. In the nearby village of Ston, you’ll be able to marvel at Europe’s longest defensive walls before visiting an oyster farm to learn how oysters and mussels are cultivated here and why these gastronomic delights are so highly desirable. An oyster and mussel tasting, complemented with local wine under shady trees will quickly reveal why these local shellfish are so beloved.
Elaphiti Islands, Dubrovnik (B, L)
One of the most popular destinations on our Croatia cruises is on the agenda for the last full day of your trip. A magnificent grand finale, we’ll first sail around the Elaphiti Islands, enjoying a swim along the way and serene views of the landscapes filled with citrus groves, vineyards, fig and olive trees. You’ll dine on lunch as we cruise next to the majestic stone walls that surround the Old City of Dubrovnik for a unique perspective and the chance to take plenty of great photos. A guided tour will bring you inside to explore the narrow marble streets and centuries-old landmarks before leisurely exploring on your own. Two of the most popular experiences include a walk atop the defensive walls and a cable car ride to the summit of Mt. Srd for a jaw-dropping bird’s-eye view of the city, the sea and nearby islands.
Your seven-night Croatia cruise ends today. Before enjoying breakfast, get your bags packed and ready, taking time for farewells to the crew and your fellow passengers. After your meal, transfer will bring you to your onward hotel or Dubrovnik Airport for the flight home.
