Adriatic Sea Cruises
An Adriatic Sea cruise is what dreams are made of. One morning you’re walking through a Roman palace in Split. By afternoon you’re diving off the back of a yacht into water so clear you can see the anchor chain resting on the seabed. That evening, you dine in a pretty konoba overlooking the harbor. This is not a floating resort experience. Our Adriatic cruises are built around small ships carrying fewer than 40 guests. You unpack once. You sail short distances. You swim often. You dock in the heart of town. Join us for an Adriatic cruise small ship experience that feels intimate, well-paced, and truly unforgettable.

Why choose an Adriatic cruise?
The Adriatic stretches between Italy’s eastern coast and the Balkans, but Croatia is its natural centerpiece. The sailing routes between Split and Dubrovnik are among the most rewarding in Europe, linking UNESCO-listed cities, vineyard-covered islands, quiet fishing villages, and hidden coves that larger ships cannot access.
We design each Adriatic Sea cruise to balance structured itineraries with ample free time. Guided walking tours are included in key destinations. Swim stops are built into most days. Evenings are often yours to explore independently.
Many of our guests extend their cruise with land experiences in Venice, Montenegro, Slovenia, or inland Croatia. We’ll plan it as one seamless journey.

Top Adriatic cruise destinations
Split
Ancient Diocletian’s Palace is Split’s crown jewel, with some of the world’s most well-preserved Roman architecture. It’s a city where history can be felt around every corner, not simply referred to in guidebooks.
Trogir
Founded in the 3rd century BC, Trogir is home to one of Central Europe’s best-preserved Romanesque-Gothic town centers, now UNESCO-listed. Wander its narrow stone lanes and you’ll reach the 15th-century Kamerlengo Fortress, standing watch over the waterfront. It’s compact, atmospheric, and easy to explore at your own pace.
Hvar
Hvar Island attracts celebrities and international jetsetters, but there’s so much more to it than that. Climb to the hilltop fortress for wide views across the Pakleni Islands, wander past Venetian-era stone houses, and you’ll see a quieter side emerge. Inland, small wineries and olive groves define the landscape, giving the island depth beyond its waterfront scene.
Korčula
Korčula’s Old Town sits on a small peninsula, enclosed by medieval walls and stone towers. Its narrow streets were designed to channel sea breezes, a detail you’ll notice on warm afternoons. Beyond the town, vineyards, pine forests, and quiet coves are waiting to be discovered, along with some of Croatia’s most well-known white wines.
Vis Island
Vis is one of the least developed islands on the Adriatic, which is precisely its appeal. Fishing boats still outnumber yachts in the harbor, and much of the coastline is defined by high cliffs, quiet beaches, and clear, deep water. Roman remains and 20th-century military tunnels hint at a complex past, but most visitors come for the simplicity and space.
Pelješac Peninsula
Pelješac is known for its red wines, fresh oysters, and a coastline that feels quieter than the main islands. In Ston you can walk the long defensive walls before sitting down to oysters harvested just offshore. It’s a rewarding stop for anyone interested in culinary experiences as much as the beautiful scenery.
Dubrovnik
Few coastal cities are as visually striking as Dubrovnik. Walk the full circuit of the walls for stunning views across terracotta rooftops and toward Lokrum Island. The city also served as the filming location for King’s Landing in Game of Thrones, though its real history runs far deeper.
Adriatic small ship cruise highlights

Personalized service & an intimate atmosphere
On a small yacht-style vessel, the scale changes everything. With fewer than 40 guests on board, service feels attentive, bespoke, and relaxed rather than formal. The crew are selected for their regional knowledge and experience, and they’re happy share their insights at each stop along the way.
By the end of the cruise, you’ll not only know the destinations well, but you’ll probably have made several new friends too.

Immersive experiences exploring smaller ports & top destinations
What sets an Adriatic cruise small ships itinerary apart is how closely you engage with each stop. You dock in the center of town, walk straight into daily life, and spend time with the people who call that destination home.
That might mean sitting down with a winemaker to taste vintages produced from the surrounding hills, savoring oysters harvested that morning in Pelješac or stepping inside a family-run olive mill to understand how production still happens on a small scale.

Cuisine, on & off board
Food is central to any Adriatic Sea cruise. On board, chefs source ingredients locally whenever possible, such as seafood, produce, and herbs. Lunch might feature grilled fish caught that morning, seasonal vegetables, and regional wines from nearby vineyards.
Evenings are often free, giving you the chance to dine ashore. We’ll point you toward restaurants that locals return to, from waterfront seafood spots to small konobas tucked away on charming side streets.
Tastings are often included during guided tours as well, adding another layer to the experience.

Daily swim stops and watersports
Swim stops are a highlight of any Adriatic Sea cruise. Thanks to the smaller size of the ship, the captain can anchor in quiet bays where the water is clear, calm, and impossible to resist.
You can step straight from the swim platform into the sea, snorkel along the rocks or take out a paddleboard and explore the shoreline at your own pace. Some guests prefer to float on their backs and soak up the sunshine, while others swim ashore to discover tiny pebble coves and hidden caves.
Whether you favour a cooling dip or exploring marine life beneath the waves, these are the moments when the schedule fades away and it’s simply you and the water, with nothing but the gentle sound of the Adriatic lapping against the hull.

Frequently asked questions about our Adriatic cruises
What are the best months for Adriatic cruises?
Is the Adriatic Sea rough for cruising?
The Adriatic Sea is relatively calm compared to open ocean routes. Many Adriatic cruises sail close to the Croatian coastline and between islands, which provides natural shelter from stronger swells. On a typical Adriatic Sea cruise, sailing distances are short, and itineraries are designed to favor protected waters.
That said, conditions can vary. In summer, the sea is usually smooth, with light winds and warm temperatures. Occasionally, stronger regional winds such as the bora can create choppier conditions, but experienced captains adjust routes and timing to maintain comfort wherever possible.
If you’re concerned about motion, we can recommend a cabin position that minimizes movement and advise on the calmest months to travel.
What refreshments are available on board an Adriatic cruise?
On board, you’ll find a bar with regular opening hours from 7:00am to 11:00pm selling a selection of cold or hot beverages, soft drinks, bottled water, quality local wines, and bottled beers.
Are dietary preferences catered for?
If you have any dietary requirements or preferences, please let us know as soon as possible. Our galley team will make reasonable efforts to accommodate any personal dietary requests.
What amenities are available in the cabins?
Bed linen and bath towels are provided in every cabin. Towels are changed every second day, and more towels are available upon request. Beach towels are not provided, so don’t forget to bring your own.
All cabins are also equipped with:
- Double or twin beds
- Desk and chair
- Lifejackets
- Mirror
- Hairdryer
- Wardrobe
- Night lamps
- Safety deposit box
- Radio
- 220V electric supply
- The latest safety and fire alarm equipment
- Soap and shampoo
Luggage can also be stored under the bed.
Cabins situated on the lower deck feature a porthole and a dual ventilation system (in the bathroom and the cabin), while main and upper deck cabins have a cabin window. All cabins are soundproofed and have fireproof doors.
What clothes should I pack for an Adriatic small ships cruise?
The dress code aboard all our Adriatic cruises is relaxed, casual, and comfortable during the day. Smart casual eveningwear is recommended for the Captain’s Dinner, and also for dining out on land.
Ensure you pack comfortable walking shoes for sightseeing excursions, along with warmer clothes such as a light jacket for cooler evenings.
Is Wi-Fi available on board?
Free Wi-Fi is available on board our cruise ships. Please note the internet connection used is a cellular service and therefore may be unreliable during some periods of sailing.
Is an Adriatic small ship cruise suitable for someone with a physical disability?
Adriatic small ships have limited accessibility, so here are a few important considerations:
- Embarkation and disembarkation may involve steep stairways, higher-than-average steps, and occasional gaps between vessels.
- Most shore excursions are walking tours lasting 30–45 minutes and can include cobblestones, uneven surfaces, and stairs.
- You should also be comfortable standing for periods of time when visiting museums and historic sites.
Guests with significant mobility limitations may find parts of the itinerary challenging. We’re happy to discuss your specific needs and advise honestly before you book.
