Day 2 Korcula to Metkovic

Your next destination is Metković which lies along the river Neretva. Learn about the traditional way of life here while enjoying an ornithological paradise. Back on land, explore the New Museum of Archaeology in Vid, a village set atop the ruins of ancient Narona. Witness the 1st-century AD Roman temple called Augusteum where archaeologists discovered 16 statues of the Emperor Augustus, members of his family, other Roman high officials and deities. This evening, the Captain’s Dinner featuring live entertainment will be hosted on the ship.

Day 3 Metkovic to Split

Continue from Metkovic to Croatia’s second largest city, Split. It was birthed when Roman Emperor Diocletian chose for his retirement home in the late 3rd century and today his magnificent maze-like palace that covers nearly half the Old Town is home to some of the most impeccably preserved Roman architecture in the world. Upon arrival, you’ll meet our local guide for a tour through the cobbled streets of the historic center and the adjacent market. Afterwards you might take a leisurely stroll along the waterfront promenade, stopping for a glass of wine to sip while taking advantage of the best people watching in the city.

You’ll even have the opportunity to swim in the strikingly clear, tranquil pools beneath. Refreshed and re-energized, continue to Sibenik, a gleaming white city with an Old Town that’s home to the UNESCO-protected Cathedral of St. James. You’ll have time to explore the stone labyrinth of backstreets and alleyways before enjoying a tranquil walk along the waterfront and shopping for gifts or souvenirs in the interesting shops. Lying along the waterfront, they attract locals and visitors alike who gather here for conversations and sunset watching. The organ is made up of 35 pipes that were fitted into the payment, emitting unworldly noises with the tones powered by the waves.
