    Upon arrival at Split’s airport, our driver will be waiting to welcome you and provide a private transfer to your luxury hotel in the city’s Old Town. After check-in, take time to settle in and refresh with the rest of the afternoon enjoyed at your leisure. We recommend soaking up the atmosphere of the incredible 4th-century Roman Emperor Diocletian’s Palace which covers much of the historic center, Stroll the ancient streets and alleyways lined with some of the world’s most well-preserved Roman architecture. Many of the buildings now house unique shops, boutiques, galleries, and restaurants providing even more to explore. Enjoy an alfresco dinner here along the seaside Riva promenade before returning to your accommodation for the evening.

    Krka Waterfalls National Park.

    This morning you’ll be met by our private driver for a transfer to Krka Waterfalls National Park for a guided tour. The park is home to some of the country’s most photogenic waterfalls, including Skradinski Buk which is actually 17 different falls stretching as much as 328 feet wide before spilling 160 feet into tranquil turquoise pools. Follow your guide along the winding pathways for a close-up look at the magnificent cascades and after returning to Split you’ll have the evening at your leisure. If you haven’t tried the crni rizot (black risotto), don’t miss the opportunity as it’s a must-try in Split and on nearly every menu, with squid ink used to create black rice and other seafood used like mussels and clams.

    Split's Waterfront

    Today is cruise embarkation day but you’ll enjoy the morning at your leisure. When it’s time, your private driver will transfer you to your deluxe ship in Split’s harbor. Enjoy a welcome drink with snacks and then get settled into your cabin, with check-in available anytime from 1 pm on. If you arrive before that, feel free to let the helpful crew handle your bags so that you can enjoy the city unencumbered. The Green Market next to Diocletian’s Palace is a fun spot to browse. You’ll want to return in time for the 7 pm welcome meeting where you’ll be officially introduced to the captain and crew, given an overview of the week ahead, and enjoy a cocktail reception followed by a three-course dinner.

    Before sailing toward our first destination of the trip, Trogir, you’ll take an intriguing tour that reveals Split’s incredible historic center, nearly half of which is covered by the over 1,700-year-old Diocletian’s Palace, built as the retirement residence for the Roman emperor. Stroll the maze of streets and alleyways with your guide, marveling at the amazingly well-preserved Roman architecture. Once everyone is back on board the ship, we’ll make our departure. Upon arrival to Trogir, you’ll meet another local guide for a tour through its medieval streets with some 2,300 years of history. Some of the landmarks you’re likely to see include 15th-century Kamerlengo Castle, the Romanesque-Gothic St. Lawrence Cathedra, one of Croatia’s finest examples of sacral architecture, Central Square, and the Town Hall.

    Day 5 TROGIR - HVAR


    Departing Trogir for Hvar, as we cruise to the sunny island renowned for its nightlife, we’ll make a stop so that you can enjoy one of the highlights of the trip: Zlatni Rat beach. Swim off the shores of this famously photogenic stretch that juts out nearly a third of a mile into a translucent cobalt sea. Or, if you prefer, explore the village of Bol nearby. We’ll continue our journey to Hvar afterward with a wine-tasting experience bringing you to the small town of Jelsa to sample the wines at a family-run winery. Afterward, in Hvar Town, you’ll want to climb up to Fortica Fortress, easily reached on foot. From there, take in a spectacular view over the town, harbor, and nearby islands.

    Blue Cave

    Departing early this morning, we’ll set sail for Vis Island, known for its unspoiled landscapes with little tourism development, often called the “Mediterranean as it once was.” First, we’ll make a stop at Bisevo Island so that you can join a boat tour of the Blue Cave. Hop into a smaller vessel that can get through the entrance to marvel at a magical phenomenon of Mother Nature. When the sun’s rays beam through a crack in the roof, they reflect off the white limestone sea bottom to illuminate it with a stunning blue glow. We’ll continue to Vis afterward, arriving in the mid-afternoon. The rest of the day is at your leisure, perhaps explore the town museum or take a peaceful walk along the waterfront.

    The island of Korcula is next, famous as the birthplace of international explorer Marco Polo. As we make our way toward the gate of its fairytale-like walled Old Town, enjoy the magnificent views that surround you, including secluded turquoise bays. Upon arrival, take a guided walking tour of the charming fortified historic center, strolling the streets that were laid out in the shape of a fishbone to help protect residents from the elements, keeping it cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter. Notice the many influences by the Venetians throughout, like the winged lions on St. Mark’s Cathedral. This evening, we’ve arranged for a unique optional experience: a traditional village party with authentic local entertainment.

    Our first stop today is one of Croatia’s greenest islands, Mljet. We’ll anchor just outside the entrance to Mljet National Park so that you can take the short walk to its famous saltwater lakes in dazzling hues of blues and greens. Enjoy lunch on board as we cruise onto the tranquil fishing village of Slano on the mainland. This is a gateway to the nearby fortified village of Ston, famous for its oysters, said to be some of the best in the world thanks to the high concentration of salt and other minerals in the water. Enjoy a tasting of fresh oysters and mussels at an oyster farm with this evening reserved for the Captain’s Dinner with live music and entertainment.

    We’ll depart early this morning with the final day of our cruise bringing us to Dubrovnik with its many medieval landmarks. Before disembarking, we’ll sail around the historic center’s towering stone walls for a perspective of the Old City from the water. Once on land, you’ll join our local guide for a walking tour where you’ll marvel at centuries-old buildings like the Gothic-Renaissance Rector’s Palace. We’ve arranged for your entrance to the City Walls as well so that you can walk atop them, enjoying views of the sea and nearby Elaphiti Islands on one side and the red-tiled rooftops on the other. We recommend a celebratory meal with a sea and sunset view in the of the many outstanding rooftop eateries.

    Today’s agenda is all up to you – take the day to explore Dubrovnik at your leisure, perhaps a ride on the cable car to the summit of Mount Srd for a bird’s-eye view over the city and the sparkling sea or kayaking over to nearby Lokrum Island. An optional guided tour to Montenegro is sure to be unforgettable, with Kotor just a two-hour drive from Dubrovnik. It includes a visit to Kotor’s medieval Old Town, surrounded by massive defensive walls that stretch for 2.5 miles, while home to picturesque squares, lovely churches, and grand palaces dating between the 15th and 18th centuries. Visit Perast to see the famous Our Lady of the Rocks and enjoy lunch with awe-inspiring views over Kotor Bay.
