Our final destination for today is unspoiled Vis, an island often referred to as the “Mediterranean as it once was,” with little tourism development thanks to being closed off to the public for many years while used as a naval Yugoslav base. You’ll have the rest of the day to enjoy it at your leisure, wandering through the ancient streets, perhaps visiting the City Museum with its archaeological treasures.

Cruising on to the mainland, we’ll visit the traditional fishing village of Slano, the gateway to the enchanting fortified village of Ston. It’s renowned for its oysters, a delight you’ll get to taste after we wander around the medieval ramparts. Inside join a tour led by our expert guide to marvel at landmarks like the Pile Gate, Sponza Palace and Rector’s Palace. If they look familiar, that’s probably because you’ve glimpsed them while watching the hit “Game of Thrones” TV series.
