Day by Day Itinerary
Opatija/Krk Island (L)
Your Croatia cycling cruise begins with your check in at Opatija harbor between 11 am and noon. We recommend that you arrive into this elegant city a day early to take advantage of all that it has to offer and to ensure that you don’t miss our 1 p.m. departure.
Nestled between the sea and the mountains, a stroll on the seaside promenade brings spectacular views of magnificent mansions on one side and the glistening expanse of the Adriatic on the other.
On our journey to Krk island, you’ll enjoy lunch and time to get to know the crew and your fellow passengers. An easy 11.2-mile ride on is on the agenda this afternoon, pedaling a paved road from Krk town to the village of Punat and back.
Krk Island (B, D)
You’ll get to know Krk Island well on your Croatia biking tour today which covers about 30 miles.
Start by cycling through beautiful Mediterranean scenery with fig trees and olive groves as we make our way to the medieval village of Dobrinj which sits on the peak of a steep hill. It’s like an open-air museum, with the main square presenting its authentic spirit.
We’ll pass sheep herds and stone walls as we make our way to Vrbnik to sample wine with prosciutto and cheese. A picturesque view of Kosljun island with its 12th century monastery and the Punat Valley follows just before the final stretch, heading downhill to Baska where we’ll overnight.
Rab Island (B, L)
This morning our cycling cruise in Croatia brings us to Lopar on lush Rab island. We’ll sail as you enjoy breakfast to fuel up for today’s 26 miles of pedaling.
Once on land, we ride to a famous sandy beach framed by a beautiful bay before cycling the island’s interior, passing Supetarska Draga as we make our way to the walled city of Rab with its impressive Romanesque towers.
Back on board, it’s time for lunch and our next cycle that will bring us to one of the Mediterranean’s few surviving forests. Enjoy a refreshing swim before returning to the ship in the port of Rab.
Pag and Ilovik Islands (B, L, CD)
A quick crossing takes us to Pag Island where we’ll begin our 22-mile Croatia cycle tour by riding through the moon-like landscape, stopping at Lun village with its sone walls and ancient, thousand-year-old olive trees.
As Pag is famous for its cheese, we recommend stopping in one of the konobas (traditional taverns) for a taste. After reaching postcard-perfect Mandre village we’ll head back onboard for lunch while cruising to flower-filled Ilovik Island.
You’ll have time to relax, enjoy a peaceful stroll or swim before the optional captain’s dinner on the ship tonight.
Mali Losinj (B, L)
Twenty-six miles of cycling begins with our departure to Mali Losinj. We’ll explore the Cikat Peninsula with its spectacular beaches, fragrant Mediterranean herbs and pine trees before continuing on to the pretty village of Veli Losinj.
Enjoy lunch on the ship followed by an easy pedal to Sveti Ivan hill, one of the many idyllic beaches, or the breathtaking Theme Viewpoint Providenca which showcases the natural beauty of the island, the city and southern Losinj archipelago, complete with informative signs and photographs.
Cres Island (B, L)
Our Croatia biking tour features over 28 miles of beautiful today, cycling through laurel and pine trees on the way to Cres Island, linked to Mali Losinj by bridge.
Once on Cres we’ll visit ancient Osor village where you’ll be able to breathe in the history with the stone-paved streets polished over the centuries and influences left by the Romans, Venetians and Austrians in every wall.
A more challenging cycle brings us to the fishing village of Martinscica where the ship awaits. Enjoy lunch as we continue cruising to historic Cres Town where you can spend the evening at your leisure.
Opatija Riviera (B, L)
As you enjoy breakfast, we’ll cruise to the Opatija Riviera, anchoring at Moscenicka Draga. A moderate 29-mile cycle begins by rolling alongside the coast with breathtaking views of the sea and nearby islands.
We’ll enjoy a break at Brsec village which sits on the cliffs high above the Kvarner Gulf before continuing to St. Jelena hill and its jaw-dropping panoramic view over Kvarner Bay.
Next is the medieval town of Moscenice followed by Lovran. Here you’ll hop aboard the ship and sail to the place where it all began, Opatija. If you didn’t have time to explore its 7.5-mile-long Lungomare promenade, this is the perfect time to do it with your evening free.
With the final day of this unforgettable Croatia cycling cruise here, after an early breakfast, it will be time to disembark.
You might want to spend more time in opulent Opatija, or if you need recommendations for exploring other destinations near or far, our travel experts will be happy to help.
