Itinerary
Day 1 Opatija to Rab

Hop aboard your ship in magnificent Opatija known for its opulent mansions on the waterfront. We’ll depart at 1 p.m. for Rab, the “island of love,” with its Old Town of the same name. Join us on a guided tour to marvel at the medieval walls and towers, visit picturesque squares, palaces, and churches. It’s known for its Montmarte feel, wonderfully atmospheric with artists painting and exhibiting their works in the streets. Legend tells that local nuns created Rab’s signature Rab cake for a visiting pope. The recipe has been kept a secret, but you’ll get a sample after your tour.

Day 2 Rab to Zadar

Cruise on to Zadar after breakfast. Croatia’s oldest university town has a rich history that can be seen in its imposing city walls and more than 30 churches like the 9th-century St. Donat church, the city’s symbol, and a 1st-century AD Roman Forum. Join a guided city tour for an in-depth look that also includes its modern delights. Along the waterfront are a pair of famous art installations, the “Sea Organ” playing the mystical tones of nature’s orchestra and “Greeting to the Sun,” a playful game of lights activated by sunlight. Afterwards, witness what some say is the world’s most beautiful sunset.

Day 3 Zadar to Krka National Park & Sibenik

This morning we’ll cruise to Skradin where you’ll board our coach, stopping at the renowned Bibich Winery for a sample of its fine wines and enjoy a light tapas lunch. After returning to Skradin, take a walk through Krka National Park with its 17 waterfalls. A series of cascades, Skradinski Buk spills into a beautiful pool where you can enjoy an unforgettable swim in the pristine water. Afterward, journey to Sibenik to explore its spectacular Old Town, including the highlight, the UNESCO protected Cathedral of St. James. You’ll have time to stroll the waterfront and check out the boutiques too, enjoying dinner back on board.

Day 4 Sibenik to Split

Continuing to nearby Split, this ancient city was birthed when Roman Emperor Diocletian decided to build his retirement residence here. Constructed over the late 3rd– and early-4th century, the UNESCO-listed Diocletian’s Palace is its most famous attraction, a maze-like complex filled with Roman architecture that has stood the test of time. The Riva promenade is a popular spot to be, with its restaurants, cafes and bars along the waterfront. Upon our arrival, meet our local guide for a walking tour through the Old Town and the famous market adjacent to the palace.

Day 5 Split to Metkovic

Sailing to Metković, along the banks of the river Neretva at the Herzegovina border, you’ll witness one of Europe’s last remaining wetland deltas and take a trip back in time. Enter by barge to explore the groves and other flora and fauna, while learning about the Neretva people’s traditional way of life. Visit the Narona archeological museum in Vid to see the remains of Augusteum, a Roman temple, and 16 monumental marble sculptures that depict Roman Emperor Augustus, his family members, and other high Roman officials. This evening, the captain’s dinner with live music will be hosted on the ship.

Day 6 Metkovic to Korcula

Sail to Korčula, this morning, famous as the birthplace of intrepid explorer Marco Polo. We’ll anchor near the historic heart of Korčula Town, a walled medieval town with towers and ramparts. Join a local guide to learn about some of its best-kept secrets as you’re led through the historic center with its narrow streets and alleyways designed in a fish bone pattern. Your guide will fill you in on the reason they were made that way. Afterward, you’ll have time to explore at your leisure, dining at one of the fantastic restaurants or traditional konobas featuring authentic local cuisine.

Day 7 Korcula to Dubrovnik

Your final destination is Dubrovnik. You’ll get one of the best views from the sea, while cruising the outside of its massive Old City Walls. It’s one of only a few walled cities by the sea, described by writer George Bernard as “heaven on earth.” After mooring at Gruz harbor, you’ll walk through the historic gates for a guided walking tour. You’ll have time to explore it more on your own, perhaps walking atop the walls that stretch around its center for 1.2 miles. Or ride the cable car up Mount Srd for a panoramic view over the city, the sea and nearby islands.

Day 8 Departure from Dubrovnik

Your enchanting 7-night cruise from Opatija to Dubrovnik ends after breakfast this morning. Take time to say your goodbyes to the crew and new friends made.
