You might want to arrive early to enjoy the picturesque town of Opatija before checking in to your elegant vessel, anytime from 12:00 p.m. on. You’ll enjoy a welcome cocktail and introductions to the crew before taking in the magnificent views along the renowned Opatija Riviera, frequently compared to the French Riviera, as you depart for Pula. Located at the southern tip of the Istria peninsula, upon arrival you’ll be able to explore this city that dates back more than 3,000 years, including its famously well-preserved 1st-century Roman amphitheater that’s among the world’s largest surviving Roman arenas and 1st-century BC Hercules Gate. After returning to the ship, a welcome dinner will be served.
This morning we’ll began cruising once again while you enjoy breakfast, heading towards Brijuni National Park and its 14 islands, islets, and reefs. Anchoring near the largest, Veliki Brijun, you’ll enjoy exploring this picturesque natural oasis that also features many dinosaur footprints. Continuing to your overnight destination, Losinj with its lovely aromas due to a mix of pine trees, wildflowers, and herbs, you’ll have time to visit Mali Losinj, set within a large natural harbor. Enjoy a glass of sparkling wine and visit the museum dedicated to an ancient bronze statue of an athlete found off the island’s shores, the Museum of Apoxyomenos. You might also walk to the smaller town of Veli Losinj or the Losinj Aromatic Garden, both easily accessible on foot.
This morning you’ll sail to Zadar, also your next overnight destination as you’ll want to enjoy more time here which so much to see. The country’s oldest university town, it has a long, rich history that you’ll explore on a guided tour. Discover the 1st-century Roman Forum, the city’s famous symbol, 9th-century St. Donat Church, the 16th-century city gate, the Museum of Ancient Glass, and many grand palaces, villas, and other churches, with more than 30 in the historic center alone. Before returning to the ship, you’ll also get to witness the world-famous art installations along the waterfront, the Sea Organ which plays music using the sea, and the Greeting to the Sun.
Departing with the early morning sun for your next destination, Kornati National Park, you’ll sail around this archipelago with its 140 islands, islets, and reefs. Just a quarter of the park is on land with the rest under water. There are medieval fortresses, Roman villas, and many other sights that will be revealed before you continue to Primosten along the central coast between Trogir and Sibenik. The old town is located on a small island that’s connected to the mainland and boasts idyllic beaches with crystal-clear blue water along with interesting architecture. Enjoy exploring before returning to the ship for the Captain’s Dinner with live entertainment.
Another early morning sail takes you to Vis, the farthest inhabited island off the mainland. It was closed off to the public for some four decades while it was used as a Yugoslav military base, leaving it relatively undeveloped by tourism. You’ll find the architecture and the local culture to be very well-preserved. Enjoy its enchanting atmosphere and picturesque views by taking a stroll along the waterfront promenade before or after dinner at one of the many taverns and restaurants known for their tasty local delicacies. The Archeological Museum in Vis is well worth a visit showcasing ancient artifacts and ethnographic treasures along with furniture from houses across the island and traditional fishing implements.
Get ready for one of the highlights of your cruise with a visit to the world-renowned Blue Cave. Your ship will depart before breakfast, sailing to the island of Bisevo which houses this remarkable cave. It’s Mother Nature’s magic with sunlight beaming through a crack in the roof and reflecting on the white limestone sea bottom which illuminates the interior in a brilliant blue glow. Afterward, continue cruising to visit Hvar where you’ll spend the night. Meet your guide for a sightseeing tour of the historic center, discovering 7th-century fortifications, Europe’s oldest community theater, a Venetian loggia, and more. Afterward you’ll hop on a bus for an excursion that will take you through the island’s stunning lavender-, vineyard-, and olive grove-filled landscapes to the ancient city of Stari Grad.
Your next island is Brac, perhaps best-known as the home of one of Europe’s most stunning beaches, Zlatni Rat which juts out about a third of a mile into turquoise waters. The tides and the winds result in it constantly changing its shape, which looks like a horn, hence its nickname, the Golden Horn. Enjoy its beauty before continuing to the 1,700-year-old city of Split, birthed with Roman Emperor Diocletian decided to build his retirement palace here. You’ll take a guided sightseeing tour to discover its impeccably preserved Roman architecture which now houses all sorts of eateries, art galleries, and boutiques. Take a stroll along the Riva waterfront promenade and perhaps catch a sunrise from the top of Marjan Hill before returning to ship to enjoy dinner onboard.
With departure day here, you’ll have time to fuel up for your journey with one last breakfast on the ship before taking private transfer to Split’s airport or your local hotel if you plan to stick around awhile. Big thank you to the team at Cruise Croatia for putting us on such a beautiful cat and along with skipper Ivan. We loved the Kornati islands, swimming off the back of the boat and getting away from the hussle and bustle in Split

Highly recommend this cruise to anyone looking to explore the beautiful Dalmatian coast. We met some really amazing people on board and despite some very wet October weather, we enjoyed the cruise and made some new friends.
